MARCO GAROFALO - ITALY | NO SEX IMMAGINI... LUCI DI OMBRE NEL FUTURO | TOCCO DI PROFESSIONISTA
L'idea del progetto nasce per ricordare un passato dimenticato, la tecnica fotografica della lunga esposizione.
La collezione "Immagini... Luce di Ombre nel Futuro" e stata interamente realizzata nel mio studio a Rocca Priora al "Mouse Gold".
Ho creato un mini set con una lampada spot da 500wt luce continua con tanti oggetti in lunga posa, le immagini sono state realizzate fotografando il riflesso dell'ombra dell'oggetto sul fondale, ho utilizzato un tripod con corpo macchina Hasselblad Hdiii,dorso da 50 megapixel, ottica 100mm,diaframma 18 iso50 con un tempo di apertura otturatore 2 minuti, le immagini sono al naturale senza alcun intervento del digitale.
Questo progetto per me è un omaggio ai Grandi Maestri della Fotografia in Bianco Nero,Ansel Adams, Helmut Newton, Henri Cartier Bresson.
L’artista Marco Garofalo studia attentamente la sua fotografia, cercando di creare nuove tecniche per evidenziare le singole caratteristiche dei suoi personaggi.
La fotografia è un mezzo per rappresentare la realtà, i soggetti sono legati agli aspetti della vita quotidiana che di norma tendiamo a nascondere.
Attraverso la fotografia Marco Garofalo crea un ponte tra l’idea personale e lo spettatore.
Realizza un mondo familiare.
Lo stile dell’artista diventa veritiero e negli scatti inserisce sempre degli oggetti simbolici.
Il suo accurato metodo ci rievoca la tradizionale fotografia.
La raccolta “Immagini...Luci di Ombre nel Futuro” nasce perché l’artista ha desiderato volutamente di ritornare indietro nel tempo, quando la fotografia veniva costruita in maniera naturale con oggetti in lunga posa.
In queste foto carpiamo la naturalezza di un’immagine creata attraverso le ombre che conducono alla conoscenza.
Marco Garofalo battezza questo progetto soprattutto per comunicare ai giovani che ci sono tecniche da riscoprire.
Parliamo di un giovane artista forgiato da un antico insegnamento: la pellicola fotografica in camere oscura.
Questo lavoro, che richiama un passato dimenticato, è un omaggio ai grandi maestri della fotografia; queste foto in bianco e nero sono dedicate ad i suoi maestri di fotografia, Ansel Adams, Helmut Newton, Henri Cartier Bresson e ai suoi scatti.
L’originalità di unire la sensualità dell’immagine con la poesia è solo l’inizio di una nuova tecnica che l’artista sta esplorando; un percorso nuovo e innovativo.
No Sex Images... Lights of Shadows in the Future
The idea of the project was born to remember a forgotten past, the photographic technique of long exposure.
The "Images... Lights of Shadows in the Future" collection was entirely made in my "Rocca Gold" studio in Rocca Priora.
I created a mini set with a 500wt continuous light spot lamp with many objects in long pose, the images were made by photographing the reflection of the shadow of the object on the backdrop, I used a tripod with a Hasselblad Hdiii camera body, back of 50 megapixel, 100mm optics, 18 iso50 aperture with a 2 minute shutter open time, images are natural without any digital intervention.
This project for me is a tribute to the Great Masters of Photography in Black and White, Ansel Adams, Helmut Newton, Henri Cartier Bresson.
Images... Lights of Shadows in the Future
The artist Marco Garofalo carefully studies his photography, trying to create new techniques to highlight the single features of his characters. Photography is a medium to depict reality, the subjects are tied to those daily life’s aspects we normally tend to hide. Through photograhy Marco Garofalo builds a bridge between his personal idea and the observer.
He sets up a familiar world. This artist’s style becomes truthful and in his shots he always inserts symbolic objects.
His accurate method recalls traditional photography. The collection “Images... Lights of Shadows in the Future" was born because the artist expressly wanted to go back in time, when photograhy was built in a natural way with objects in long pose.
In these pictures we get the naturalness of an image which is only created by shadows, that lead to a kind of knowledge.
Marco Garofalo gives birth to this project especially to communicate to the young people that there are techniques to rediscover. We are talking about a young artist shaped by an ancient teaching: the photographic film in dark room. This work, which recalls a forgotten past, is a homage to the masters of photography; these black and white pictures are dedicated to Ansel Adams,Helmut Newton, Henri Cartier Bresson and his photographs. The originality of joining the sensuality of the image with poetry is just the beginning of a new technique that the artist is exploring; a new and innovative path.

La mostra è stata organizzata dal CNA Comunicazione e Terziario Avanzato, in collaborazione con il CNA Basilicata nella persona del presidente regionale Leo Montemurro, con il Matera International Photography (MIP), con il MIBAC Ministero per i beni e le attività culturali, la mostra è curata da Mirco Villa portavoce nazionale dei fotografi professioni e Antonello Di Gennaro Art Director del Matera International Photograhy (MIP).

Tocco di professionista: 33 fotografi provenienti da 14 stati del mondo presentano le loro migliori immagini
Cosa accade quando ti viene chiesto di selezionare le migliori opere di fotografi professionisti che rappresenteranno l'Italia?
Sicuramente la scelta è ardua. Si tratta di una sfida: non solo trovare le migliori immagini in circolazione, ma cercare quelle che hanno un valore davvero professionale, ovvero non solo sono di qualità eccelsa ma hanno un valore economico e sociale.
In questo percorso ci si trova spesso di fronte a immagini create solamente per stupire. E poi davanti a quelle scelte per questa esposizione, evocative e significative, rappresentative di uno stile che integra alla perfezione l'attività professionale con l'originalità e lo stile personale.
Provate a pensare: al giorno d'oggi quante immagini di ogni genere scorrono quotidianamente sugli schermi? Sicuramente tantissime. Ma per quante vale davvero la pena di spendere più di un secondo per osservarle? Per quali di queste sareste disposti a pagare? Quali sono oggi le miglioripossibilità per il mercato internazionale?
Immaginate ora se questa sfida non riguardasse solo l'Italia ma fosse estesa a tutto il mondo...
Touch of Professional: 33 photographers from 14 countries of the world showing their best images
What happens when you are asked to select the best works from professional photographers who will represent Italy?
Surely the choice is difficult. It is a challenge: not only finding the best images in circulation, but also looking for those that have a truly professional value, that is, not only of excellent quality but also of economic and social value.
In this path we often find ourselves faced with images created only to amaze. And then in front of those chosen for this exhibition, evocative and significant, representative of a style that perfectly integrates the professional activity with originality and personal style.
Try to think: how many images of every kind run on the screens today? Surely many. But for how many of those are really worth spending more than a second to observe them? For which of those would
you be willing to pay? What are the best opportunities for the international market today?
Now imagine if this challenge did not only concern Italy but was extended to the whole world…
